The Lancaster 093 is the 93rd one-of-a-kind piece in Vortic's "Lancaster" line of the American Artisan Series. This watch contains the original movement (timepiece), dial (face), and hands from a vintage (1880’s – 1950’s) pocket watch. The American Artisan Series is a line of fully American Made wristwatches powered by restored, U.S. made pocket watch movements.
What makes the Lancaster 093 Unique: We are pleased to present this delightful timepiece from the Hamilton Watch Company. We expect intricate designs and charismatic dials from Hamilton, however, it is rare that we find one that has as much age and character as this one. A soft tan hue shows through these numerals which appear to have had some gold-colored accents at one time. Dark, bold blued steel hands jump out and bring the face to life. We wanted to keep the earth tones carried through so we choose to case this watch in our gunmetal titanium. Our natural band helps match with the dial, while the gold-plated crown and hardware add some precious metal visual intrigue. The movement of this watch is everything we expect from Hamilton, with this very large two-piece plate that has been highly decorated with Geneva lines, and a wonderful spiral pattern to the gears. Gold-plated gears and a brass balance wheel keep the precious metal look alive, while 17 screw-set jewels keep everything turning smoothly. This watch was originally manufactured by the Hamilton Watch Company in Lancaster, Pennsylvania in 1932. In this very same year, Hattie W. Caraway becomes the first woman elected to the United States Senate.
